
The Left Hand of Cervantes
Illustrations for group exhibition curated by Mery Cuesta, prepared with the contributions of Embassy of Spain in TR and the Cervantes Institute, which is attended by Spanish and Turkish artists.
The theme of the exhibition was that the great writer Miguel de Cervantes losing of his left hand in the conflict between the Ottoman Empire and the Spanish Empire in the Naval Battle of Lepanto.
The following illustrations describe a fictional alternate universe in which Cervantes’ severed hand continues its own adventure and embarks on a Don Quixote-like adventure.
